- About
The festive period is an incredibly visual time with decorations, bright markets, personalised stocking fillers, snowscapes and lots of friends and family around to help us celebrate. We take time to focus on the young people in our lives and how we can help them experience a truly magical time. Young people with visual impairments do not get to experience this time of year the same as their peers but at Henshaws we focus on what people can do, rather than what they can’t.
How you can help!
This festive season you can Give the gift of adventure and help young people with visual impairments to build the foundations for a brighter future and discover that their possibilities are endless.
Your support will go towards helping to learn life skills, but also to ensuring that young people with visual impairments get to experience the same fun activities as their peers. Over the year children and their families take part in activities including bike riding, art clubs, rock climbing, baking cakes and 3 night residentials.
These adventures are not possible without the support of generous individuals like yourselves and your donation would support…
£10 could give a young person the thrill of adventure on a kayaking trip, letting them experience the excitement and confidence that comes from taking to the water for the first time!
£25 could support a young person as they feel the joy of riding a bike for the very first time—a memory they’ll carry forever!
£50 could help a young person in experiencing their first night away from home on a Henshaws Residential Trip, where they’ll build confidence, make lifelong friends, and embrace new challenges in a supportive, fun environment.
£100 could give a visually impaired young person to experience the thrill of skiing down a slope for the first time, bringing them confidence, adventure, and a sense of freedom that stays with them long after the snow melts.
£250 could support the cost of a trip to the farm where they can engage with animals, feel diverse textures, and enjoy hands-on learning experiences. This unique opportunity enhances their sensory understanding and creates joyful, memorable connections with nature.
£500 could help our dedicated staff to work closely with a young person's family, gaining insight into their needs and interests. This support helps us develop personalized pathways that allow each young person to flourish in every part of their community.
DONATE TODAY and help young people with visual impairments to look towards a brighter future.
